The death of Heath Ledger is sad and tragic. But on the whole, it is no more tragic than the 155,000 other people that died that day, and everyday. I understand why we get so fixated on famous people when they die, especially when they die young and have a life so full of promise. But it feels wrong to give Heath Ledger world-wide attention, when most of us can't name any of the other 154,999 people who also died that day. If I hear one more news story full of speculation without any evidence or hear any more discussions about whether this helps or hurts the Batman movie being released this summer, I am going to throw something at my TV.
