To all of my friends who drove me to Rehoboth Beach over the years, I apologize for dismissing your fears of driving off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. I told you that is was impossible, never going to happen, so don't worry about it. 
Turns out, I was wrong. This weekend, a tractor trailer drove off the Bay Bridge, killing the driver and backing up traffic for hours. Although, in my defense, no other vehicles have driven off the bridge in its 56 year history.
