A road trip, a little too much fun, and Blog Boy comes to real life

I trust you all have had the loveliest of weekends. If not, at least be glad for me because I did.
Well, the spending 7 hours driving on Sunday, a large part of that spent sitting on the interstate part sucked but the rest of it was pretty stellar. Allow me to break it down for you, mmmmk?

As I shared on my last "Soft-Core Friday" post, part of this weekend's shenanigans would include a road trip to a fun city, where I would be meeting up with blog boy for the first time. More on that in a minute. Let's just say the man did his homework on me.

This weekend can best be summed up by a  list of my favorite things, so in no particular order:

  • Road trip to one my favorite places to stay with one of my life long friends and a newer friend that I also enjoy being around  and a very large dose of girl talk that was long overdue.

  • Delicious food: dinner last night was a a Turkish restaurant and included the most amazing steamed mussels in a white wine sauce (that was so good that I literally wanted to lick the plate), the creamiest most delicious hummus I've ever had, and several large glasses of Pinot Grigio. I left there beyond full and almost high off the decadence, OK, maybe I was really just buzzed from all the wine but you get what I'm saying.

  • More delicious food: As if the the Turkish feast for dinner was not enough, we had a yummy brunch on Sunday morning. That's my favorite thing about that city, so many great brunch places. I indulged in eggs benedict and of course no brunch is complete without a mimosa. It was a lovely way to start my day.

  • A block party/neighborhood festival that had 3 stages of music, so many cool local artisan booths, and many, many beer tents.

And last but certainly not least, was meeting up with my aforementioned blog boy. Perhaps he will share his side of the story some time but for now, you get my take on it.

It really felt to me like we were old friends from the very first face-to-face hello. That was awesome! No weirdness or awkwardness whatsoever. He was with several of his long-time friends and our friend groups got along swimmingly. When met, split up, reconnected, and I even dragged him along with the girls for a while and make him look at jewelry and purses and such and he was a very good sport about it all which earned him major points in my book.

My girls and I split off again to get something to eat. We were planning on fair food but decided the restaurant was too good to pass up and waited quite a while for a table. After we had been seated, blog buddy found his way back to us and joined us for dinner. It made the whole thing that much better to have him join us and he was hazed by the girls to the best of our ability. It was an entertaining dinner to say the least.

After way too much food and more than enough wine, we ventured out to the next destination. We missed the  shindig that was planned there for the most part but we did get to hear Jay-Z followed by Ray LaMontagne, followed by Michael Jackson so the music was a win. On to the next stop, a hopping little joint with the loudest people ever. We fit in well. More drinks, more good conversation, and little prelude of mischievous
hair pulling just to tease me. I told you he did his homework.

The night wound down and the boys were perfect gentlemen and walked us to the car. The others made small talk while blog boy and I said our goodbyes. It was a nice goodbye, complete with a "shut up and pull my hair' moment that was executed to perfection.

And that was the end of it.

I know, you are shocked right? You thought for sure that I would have some hot sexy time story for you. Well, I'm not disappointed.  He had the misfortune of meeting me during "dial it back' summer and I really am sticking to behaving myself to the best of my ability. Sucks to be him, right?? Well, I don't know about that. Maybe I'll ask him..

There's always next time...

Oh and in a very important side note, my darling Jewels has moved.... she's no longer Jewels Turning 30 on Blogger but you can now find her HERE. Make sure you follow her new site!

"Soft-Core Friday" - Taking it Offline and Into the Real World

Happy Friday, and better yet, happy "Soft-Core Friday" here at Random Girl.

So for this "Soft-Core", I thought I would take a look at taking an online friendship to the real world. And yes, there is a reason I'm talking about this now.

The stars have aligned and an interesting opportunity has presented itself. This opportunity consists of me meeting up with a fellow blogger. Of the male variety. In a very fun city. For an entertaining night on the town.  I hope fear shenanigans may ensue.

I am the first one to go head first into a new adventure so I am looking quite forward to this little meet up. After a little planning (all of which he has coordinated impressively enough) and a multi-hour drive for one of us and a plane ride for the other (he was going there anyways, seeing me is just a huge awesome bonus), we seem to be all set to have a blast. We will be combining our respective friend groups and rolling out to a music festival and then to a bar for some sort of celebration for some unknown person. Whatever. It doesn't matter. Any night out with Randy is a good night....am I right?!?

So here's to adventure, kids! Not saying it will be "Soft-Core" in the traditional sense of the phrase so don't go getting all excited (yes, I'm talking to you. You know who you are!). I plan on behaving myself for the most part in keeping with my "dial it back summer" program. But he does already have some inside scoop on what I like so I might be in for trouble...

Oooohhh Shiny things!

Hi kids! I have missed you so! I won't apologize for being such a slacker, on the posting and more disappointingly reading fronts, but work is being a very demanding little bitch right now and she'll not be ignored so I'm doing what I must. Randy has bills to pay so until/unless I find my sugar daddy I shall continue to toil away.

Enough about that. I have fun stuff to talk about now. My lovely sunshine, Rita, gave me an awesome award. I have gotten some great ones in the past but this is particularly awesome, because it has fire on it and you all know how I like fire, or more specifically, the men who put fires out. Yum!  Sorry, what was I talking about?? Oh yes, an award. So thank you darling Rita!
There are rules and I although I usually ignore rules, these I will abide by.
1) Thank the person that gave me the award. See praises to Rita above. I really love this girl, for reals!
2) Reveal 5 things about yourself (and make them a little hot in honor of the award)

  • Nothing turns me on like a well-timed hair pull
  • I may or may not have made a sex tape
  • I have made out with at least one pro athlete from most of the major sports (hockey, baseball (he went pro for the Cubs), NFL draft pick. I'm not a groupie, I just seem to have good luck
  • I can kiss and never ever tell. But I think sharing is fun so I probably will if not specifically told not to.
  • I'll let you make something up about me for this one, you're welcome!
3) Pass this on to 7 of my favorite hot blogs
This is a tough one. I seem to have a limitless amount of hotness around me... I'm such a lucky girl!

For the educational value, I have to include B&B sexcapades I get the urge to go buy ropes and get myself all tied up when I read this one!

For hotness with an attitude, my girl Jewels does it every time.

Stefan at Kreative Anythinnz This man wraps me around his finger with his awesome words every time. You need to read his stuff!

My girl, and keeper of all things hotness, Kage at Sex Sequins & Sociopaths. Just check out her blog, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Simple Dude is anything but simple. He is hilarious and sexy all wrapped into one.

And last but not least is my man Wow... I mean with a name like that... what's not hot?  Plus he plays the "pull my hair" card every chance he gets... so you know...

Ok, I'm not following the rules, I'm only doing 6 because I'm pressed for time and I would rather read your stuff than keep bothering you with mine.

Hope you enjoy my "hot" list and take some time to check them all out!

Should You Mix Pleasure with Business - New Random Girl at The Dude Society

It's about time...right?!? The hot boys over at The Dude Society are letting me play in their space again.

This time I'm taking on hot office hook-ups, or at least what to think about if you are tempted to get it on in the supply closet.

Check it out, leave me some comment love, and pick out who you would bang in the copy room at your office...just for hypothetical fun of course! I would never encourage such shenanigans!

Here's  sneak peek of what is going on at The Dude Society...

Should You Mix Pleasure With Business?

If you are like most guys, slaving away to make a living, you find yourself spending more time with the people you work with than anyone else in your life. It only stands to reason, that at some point, you will probably find yourself attracted to one of your workplace counterparts.

Should you take advantage of this job “perk” or keep it strictly professional?

Office hook-ups are common, but can come with some major complications that should be considered before making a hot visit to the supply closet.

Like a bad penny...

I have been a little quiet this week which is not really like me but I have kind of enjoyed taking a step back and just observing things for a while.

What has not been quiet is my cell, my Facebook page, and random runnings' into that have occurred in the last week.

It seems, like a bad penny, all that's old is resurfacing again. The Man, long-suffering T, Ex-BF, and a newish guy  (whom we shall refer to as "biker boy") that I have been talking to for months but finally just went out with last weekend. All of them, once in frequent contact then nowhere to be found, are back again.

I should have known this would happen as I attempt to clear the slate, start anew, break old habits, of course the players in all of the past shenanigans would see fit to interject themselves back into the situation, or at least attempt to.

I hate feeling like I'm totally optional. These boys are all experts in opening the door to that feeling. I need a deadbolt....quick!

Sorry I'm not home right now...come see me at Cinderita's!

Today I am hanging out at Cinderita's place...it's always sunny in Cinderitaville! That lovely lady truly makes each day brighter for me and I am beyond thrilled that she is letting me crash at her place for the day.

Come check out my Friday guest post and stick around to catch up on some her shenanigans...that girl has some stories, and that is coming from me so you know it must be good stuff!

Ready for the weekend kids?? I sure am!

I Think My Boy Toy Is Broken

You wouldn't think it would be so hard. To find a nice, simple boy toy that a girl can keep on-call for when she wants some....play time. Easy enough right??  Not so much....

You have all had the annoying duty privilege of following my adventures with Fireman.  And although we have been on again/off again/on again for various reasons for quite some time, we had recently been successfully "on again" and things were clicking along swimmingly.

Is he still high maintenance? Yes. Does he still have scheduling conflicts? Yes. Was I finding other distractions to keep me from being bothered by either of these things? Yes.

So all is well, right? Well, yes and no. Things were back to good and well until he decided that upon his most recent visit, that he needed to talk.  About feelings. More specifically, his feelings for me.  Please. Just. Don't.

Can't it ever be left that good enough is good enough and we can keep it at that? This is why I don't want to talk with him, or see him outside of the bedroom, or really be involved in his life in any way that does not end with us getting off.

I know, it sounds selfish....because it is. But that was our agreement so it's not like I am flipping the script on him now after saying I wanted something else. There was never any confusion on my part. I'm hoping that there isn't any real confusion on his part and he was just feeling sentimental for the night or hell, maybe he was drunk... I don't know or care to dive any deeper into his "feelings" because NOTHING good will come from that.

So I will let him off with a warning on this one for getting caught up in my awesomeness and hope that all this nonsense "feelings" talk doesn't surface again. That's fair right?

And if it does? Well then as my new buddy Dillon reminded me via Twitter the other night, in the immortal words of Jay-Z, it will need to be "on to the next one"......  "  And because he inspires me to be "big pimpin'" you get that as my song of the day!
Oh and if you aren't following me on Twitter yet, you are missing some stellar play-by-plays as I have a tendency to tweet in near real time while all of these shenanigans are going down. Hook it up! @randomgirlblog on the Twitter. Do it now!

Boys Behaving Badly

I am usually the first one to applaud some scandalous shenanigans between consenting adults. I am certainly not one to rain on any one's parade when it comes to that.  But I have to tell you, this trends seems to be getting a little out of control.

As you may recall, my last "Soft-Core" Friday post was about the "lewd twitter pic" allegedly from Rep. Anthony Weiner to one of his Tweeps.  Well again today, yet another "lewd" (their words not mine because his pecs are HOT) photo surfaced, allegedly of the Rep. yet again. Add to that the John Edwards plea agreement for his using campaign funds to hide his mistress and resulting love-child. Add to that Arnold and his housekeeper and that love child. Add to that the IMF chief allegedly assaulting the hotel maid. Add to that...... you get where I am going with this right?

Now I am not naive enough to think that I should expect a certain level of ethics or moral standard from my elected political officials/presidential candidates/financial institution gurus but really.... should I expect so little? My main issue is not even so much that the guys are sending pics of their junk all over the twitterverse or hiding mistresses and love children, is that they make such a concerted effort to avoid/evade/deny being found out.

If you do the dirt, then just own it. Don't waste our time, money, and news coverage with denials, avoidances, and smoke screens. Don't put your families through more hurt and pain than the acts themselves would have caused had you just come clean to start with.

Very few people walk around this earth without a sin or two or without having been guilty of using poor judgement once in a while. You will gain much more respect and maintain some shred of credibility if you just own what you are, a flawed person who exhibited bad judgement, and accept the consequences with grace. Who can't relate to that?

**Update: as of 4:25 est Monday 6/6/11, Rep Weiner held a press conference to finally come clean, admit the pics are of him and he sent them and cried with "great regret for the pain he had caused".  Better late than never dude. Nothing like dragging this out for a week when it could have been done and over with the truth when it broke a week ago, just sayin'  **

Soft-Core Friday - With a Name like that, how could this not happen?

As I was scrambling to figure out a "Soft-Core" Friday post late Thursday night (since the Monday holiday really F'd my whole weekly thinking up) one topic just begged to be featured: Anthony Weiner's Twitter pic/hacking scandal.

As much as I want this to just go away because I am sick of hearing about it, it just won't. If I had a dollar for each time I heard a newscaster suppress a grade-school giggle as they made some sort of juvenile, innuendo filled segue this week, I could put my princess through college. For reals.

If you have been living under a rock, the basic storyline is that Rep. Weiner has a twitter pic of what is supposedly his package sent to a young college co-ed who he followed on Twitter.

This is just too good to not blow up into a huge scandal right? Well, yes and no. The interesting part is that he is not denying that it is his weiner in the picture, he has claimed that he "can't with certitude say it isn't me".  Instead, he takes the angle that his account was hacked and the photo, if it is him, was taken out of context. Hmm... interesting explanation.

Either way, I don't care in the least. I am just tired of hearing "weiner/Weiner" in any context. Are you with me?? And seriously, based on this alleged twitter pic of his that started all of this craziness...well, you know... it truly is NO BIG DEAL. Let's move on kids.

Here is a link to my girl Rachel Maddow's interview with him. She is beyond quality and does her homework.
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/rep-weiner-tells-maddow-twitter-photo-maybe-started-out-being-a-photo-of-mine/

For a funny take on it, check out Jon Stewart's coverage on the story. He is having an angel/devil battle over reporting it with a hilarious musical accompaniment. Don't miss this!

On another note, I had the privilege of catching this sight first hand while at The Palms Ditch Friday pool party last week. And in honor of yet another relapse with my fireman recently, thought I would share for my girls to get a little "Soft-Core" Friday eye candy. You are welcome ladies!

Things I learned In Vegas

I am finally feeling like I may be able to function in some normal capacity again as I continue my recovery from my  weekend in Vegas.

It really was a picture-perfect trip (minus the super late arrival thanks to the longest airport to hotel transfer ever and the drama filled pre-departure medical snafu on my way home). For no longer than I was there, I can say with certainty that there was not a moment of potential fun left untapped or anything less than maximized.  You kids would be very proud of your Randy Girl!

I was able to check off nearly all the items on the Truth or Dare list. Pictures of most will be forthcoming. Oddly enough the one I couldn't nail down was Elvis... never saw him during my whole trip and I was looking!

While I compile the pics to accompany by trip recap, I will share with you a few things that I learned in Vegas on this trip just for fun

Things I learned in Vegas:

  • Never take a group shuttle from the airport. Cab or limo it. It's totally worth the extra $ to get to your hotel and get the party started asap.
  • Shorts are the new dress/skirt "going out uniform" option: Super sexy, highly functional, and less risk of your ass hanging out in the strong Vegas breeze
  • You can never meet too many sexy foreign guys. I tested this theory. It's science.
  • VIP access at any club is easy. All you have to do is A) be a hot chick and B) be with another hot chick and C) not bring guys with you
  • Breakfast is best when consumed immediately after the club closes and with a bunch of hot international guys at the table with you. Nothing says "good morning" better than listening to the Brazilian talk to the Germans about cars over an omelet and toast.
  • Pool time is best spent when combined with lots of ice cold drinks, a great DJ, and an A-Rod look-alike.
  • Squeezing an hour long power nap in between pool time and going out, especially if one finds themselves unintentionally day drunk, is highly recommended.
  • See PeepShow. Great show, amazingly hot and mostly naked girls (Including Holly Madison from "Girls Next Door") and guys who can actually dance, and good way to spend a few hours before the clubs get going
  • VIP access on a holiday weekend is a must. Otherwise we would have spent hours in line with thousands of other people to get into the pool/clubs at the Palms all weekend. Thanks to a little luck and twitter, we were hooked up with VIP/no waiting/no paying for anything privileges and it totally rocked.
  • If a guy is short and angry at tall women in his normal real life, he will be even more angry and aggressive in Vegas when he comes across tall women. Francisco, you need anger management classes my friend.
  • Keenan Cahill is hilarious to watch. Youtube him. You will see what I am talking about. He "performed" with LMFAO at Tao on Saturday night. The video is linked below.
  • There is such a thing as "too many fucking people" in a nightclub. Not that I don't enjoy being smashed up against sweaty strangers for hours at a time but still... there has to be a limit.
  • If you are guy, you better get your wallet out. Cover for guys was anywhere from $50 to $1000 just to get in the door most places for Memorial Day Weekend.  Average drink price was $20 almost everywhere we went. It would suck to be a dude in Vegas on MDW.
  • After miles of walking and hours upon hours of dancing, even the most comfortable heels become devices of torture. You will not see a girl actually wearing her heels by the end of the night. Sexy sky-high heels are a must for going out in Vegas but all there is in the taxi line at the end of the night are a bunch of limping, barefoot girls in cute dresses.
  • If you ever need them, the medics at LAS airport are a cracker jack team. And cute. Just sayin'
If you want a chronological breakdown (and a bikini pic if I recall correctly) it can all be found in my twitter feed as I decided to make it an interactive trip.  I will most likely be sharing some more tales of my shenanigans, because you know I have some good ones,  and few more pics after I get everything unpacked and regrouped from the trip.

And I'm off... almost....

Well kids, the time is finally drawing near... time for me to get on that plane and find myself transported to the next best place to Oz....fabulous Las Vegas!

Thanks for all the Truth or Dare challenges put forth....I look forward to taking them on while I am getting my scandal on Vegas style over the next few days. Feel free to tweet me additional ideas as they come to you as I would like to make this an interactive adventure just for giggles.

I won't be checking my blog or reading any of yours while I am gone as I am leaving my trusty laptop at home so I'm not even tempted to spend any of my #teamnosleep time online. Never fear, I plan to catch up upon my return and I'm sure I'll have a shenanigan or two to share with you all.

Ok, I'm off.... to find  a stripper pole, a passed-out drunk person, and Elvis.... oh yeah, and to ask where the elephants are at Cirque. I have my work cut out for me on this trip! Wish Lola luck!

Welcome to the Neighborhood

Happy Monday kids! I assume you all had a relaxing and enjoyable weekend, that is my hope for you at least. I thought I would start your week off with a little random recap just for fun.

It has been a minute since I have had a good Randy story to share with you and I apologize. All of this trying to behave myself and doing "real" writing has really put a crimp in my shenanigans. But fear not, just when you have given up on getting any good stories out of me, the "neighbor incident" happens. This is really random, even for me!

So last week, the quiet little church mouse neighbor girl that had lived beside me since I moved here several years ago moved out. I was kind of bummed because she was super quiet and very polite and really was an ideal neighbor to have. I was a little nervous about who would be taking up residence in her place.

It seems I had nothing to fear as the new neighbor, a single 30-something guy, seemed to be pretty nice upon our first driveway introduction midweek. We were both on our way out so it was a quick intro, welcome to the hood, and catch ya later type convo. But I didn't fail to notice that he was rather attractive. Note to self...

Fast forward to Saturday afternoon. I has just returned from my Saturday morning volunteer gig and was tired from Friday late night craziness with friends. I was looking forward to eating lunch and taking a nice long nap to recover. Neighbor Guy was pulling in at the same time as me.

We started our driveway chatting again and that ended up with house tours and him bringing me some delicious flatbread that he had picked up at a great little deli and insisted I needed to try since we are both fans of hummus and flatbread as it turns out. Bonus points for that.

We hung out for a bit, flirting a little along the way (hey, we are both single good looking kids and we can so why not?) and then went our separate ways.

About 20 minutes later, there is  knock on my door. No surprise that it is Neighbor Guy. He is all nervous and wound up and is cracking me up because he is throwing down his best game and I think he is as surprised as I am that he had the balls to come back over.

I give him full credit for manning up. I also tell him that it doesn't work quite that way with me and although flattered, it was going to take a little more time and effort to move our situation forward. Hooking up with the hot new neighbor upon meeting only happens in pornos right? I did however indulge in a few hot kitchen counter make out moments....hell, why not? He is hot, aggressive, and confident and I can appreciate all of those things.

We had a few half-joking "how awkward will this be" conversations and how it ends up remains to be seen but it is safe to say that the idea has been firmly planted in our minds and I am guessing that at some point, we will see exactly how awkward being make-out neighbors or more can be.

I could not have made that scenario happen if I tried. Nor would I have thought to. But, that is the beauty of being lil' ol' me... random things happen when I least expect it.  Just another beautiful day in the neighborhood...right!? !

I Think This is What They Call A "Relapse"

Hello Kids! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

You know I am all about full-disclosure here at Random Girl, and that goes for the good, the bad, and the ugly. I have to confess to you kids that I had a relapse this weekend. I had shared the last few weeks that I am trying to behave myself and dial back the shenanigans a bit and I really have. That is, until Saturday night.

After finding the perfect little party dress for a nice dinner and art exhibit opening event I was attending with friends on Saturday night, the texts began from Fireman. I know I know, I fired him for a reason. But....

I had a relapse.

We started talking again on Friday and we have been able to clear the air a bit. He apologized for the drama he created. I owned the fact that I had started having expectations that might not have been fair. We decided to just try to start over. Take it back to a place of being simple and fun, a true NSA situation like it was always intended to be.

I know this is probably not a good decision.

But I couldn't help myself.

Two weeks is a long time to be good, at least for me. And yes, I realize I am making excuses in an attempt to justify my actions.

After a nice dinner, a very bizarre art show that consisted of only paintings of naked women with many of the patrons dressed in togas and a really odd "this is about to bust into being an orgy" feel to it, my friends and I rocked out to a fantastic 80's band at one of my favorite bars. All the while I was figuring out logistics with Fireman. He was to be the cherry on the top of a very fun night for me.

He was. And then some. If I had for a moment forgotten why we got together in the first place, I was quickly reminded.

And so it begins yet again. We'll see how quickly it gets complicated this time. I can't say I don't know better because I really do but I have decided to get mixed up with him yet again. Like I have said before, that boy is like crack to me, or as Jewels would say, he is like "human catnip" to me. I love that description and it is fairly accurate.

Feel free to tell me "I told you so!" when I start complaining about it all blowing up again because let's be honest, we both know that will happen sooner rather than later. In the mean time, I will be enjoying myself.

My bestie got me this T-shirt because she said it fit me perfectly. I can't disagree. I seem to keep bringing them back into the rotation.

Being Good Is Kind Of Boring

Hey kids! Thought I would take a break from all of the "real" writing I have been throwing at you lately to take it down a notch and get back to the nonsense for a moment.

As I declared after my Overindulgence part 1 and part 2 posts, I have decided to attempt to dial back things in the shenanigans department for a minute. And I have. And I am bored. Being good is boring. And boring sucks!

It has not been without merit however. By clearing out the distractions and noise that comes with running in chaos most the time, I have realized a few things that I think are worth sharing.

First, I realize that I had become somewhat addicted to the blatant sexual attention that I had been getting from my various guys wanting to be in my rotation. It's not even so much about wanting or needing to be with someone as just knowing that I have the option to if and when I so choose. Basically, I'm spoiled and a tad insecure so knowing that I have options makes me feel better.

I have basically dropped communication with all of them except Secret Agent Man who actually has potential to be something besides recreation, The Man, who is more of a friend than someone I date now, and  T, who is still a friend despite our "had to be done" question answering hook up.

And I am OK with this. I'm not looking for anything else from anyone else at this point. But, if I am really honest, I miss the excitement of looking for something new, feeling out someone, what they want, what they like, etc.  I had gotten really good at that part and to take myself out of the game like this has me feeling a bit bored.

I'm hoping that feeling of "I'm missing something fun" passes soon, and I am sure it will as I find a deeper and more meaningful relationship with someone. If I can even still do that. I have my doubts at this point. I am really good at being detached.

So there you have it kids, my moment of reflection for the day. Hopefully I'm not boring the shit out of you with my lack of shenanigans but if I am? Oh well, too bad!

Overindulgence - Part 1

As I was licking the chocolate sauce off my fingers and sighing contentedly from a piece of brownie sundae cheesecake from the Cheesecake factory a moment ago, one word hit me that perfectly sums up the last few days: Overindulgence.

I have been the queen of all sorts of overindulgence recently. Like, seriously. I can't even make a valid excuse. I have ate disgustingly decadent and delicious things, drank entirely too much alcohol, had more than my fair share of sex, and in general have just enjoyed myself to the point of it all just being ridiculous.

Even I can't justify this level of indulgence, it's not my birthday or a holiday or vacation or anything. I'm either very lucky or have reached a new level of dysfunction even for me. I'll let you know when I figure it out.

It started innocently enough on Friday night. I met my long suffering "I'm in love with you but know it will never happen for you" friend T out at our favorite little bar for the world's best chicken nachos and Long Islands. Lots of Long Islands. Like way too many. It was one of things you don't realize until you are 3 drinks in and find yourself in the middle of the "why not me?" conversation.

We hadn't talked in months, since he confessed his love and I declined, but we ran into each other, almost literally, while we were both getting our fitness on at the park last week, so the obligatory "let's catch up" came to be.

So I decided, why not him? I have always said I would never go there with T because I actually liked him too much, but in the dreaded "friend zone" kind of way. But I  guess for whatever crazy reason the planets aligned that night because I decided to prove to myself that my "it will never be you" stance was indeed correct. And to my complete shock, the hook up was pretty intense and quite enjoyable. I know that does not help me clarify my "it will never be you" stance to him, and I take complete ownership for causing a higher degree of very unhelpful confusion to the situation, because despite it being good, it won't ever happen again and I am more certain than ever that it really will "never be him".

It sounds cold hearted I know and I hate that, but I care enough about him that I know he would be wasting his time waiting for me to reciprocate his feelings and I would much rather see him happy with someone else because he really is one of the best guys I have known in my entire life. It's just not there and won't ever be for me.  I don't regret it, it really was something that just needed to happen to fill in the missing blank for both of us and confirm what we both already knew. Maybe that's not a good enough reason, but I really feel like it was necessary for both of us to see our situation for what it is, or more importantly, what it isn't.

And that was just the beginning of my overindulgent weekend. It gets better. Or worse. Or....hell, I don't even know at this point. I guess it's a subjective thing.  I'll share more in a future post. I think I have given you enough to judge me on for one post. Thanks for letting me put it all out there with you kids, it's appreciated!
