I went to an afternoon showing of the movie, Waitress, recently. I knew very little about the movie except that it was about a waitress trapped in a loveless marriage who gets pregnant by her abusive husband but falls in love with her doctor. When I walked into the theater, I was surprised that there were so many elderly people in the theater. After a few minutes into the film, it became clear why they were all there...to see Andy Griffith. When he first came up on the screen, they all clapped and starting talking about how he looked, how long it had been since they had seen him in something, and how glad they were to see him. I enjoyed the film, although it was really hard to hear over all of the coughing, wheezing, complaining about the temperature, and cheering for Andy Griffith. He is like porn for old people.
