Dan, Kevin, Marc and I went to the Studio Theater to see their production of "Reefer Madness: The Musical," part of DC's Fringe Festival. The musical is based on the 1936 propaganda film, "Reefer Madness," revolving around the tragic events that follow when high school students are lured by pushers to try pot. If you have seen the film, then you know the plot is campy and ridiculous. The musical version loosely follows the movie's plot but with songs and dance to add to the ridiculousness. This production did not disappoint with over-the-top performances and interesting direction and choreography. All I know is that we couldn't stop giggling and we were thrilled when they served brownies and popcorn at intermission.
